Accessibility
Throughout the SKE web site we have endeavoured to meet a range of Accessibility Standards.
Accessibility standards for web design facilitate users with a wide range visual or motor abilities to access the information on a web site. The Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) set the standards to which web sites should be designed to satisfy the requirements of most international legislation.
We have done our best to meet the standards that govern web site design. Whilst we accept there is always the opportunity for improvement, we are confident that we have avoided many of the design faults that make web sites inaccessible.
Key Points
• Text colour contrast is maintained for users with visual colour impairments.
• The structure of the HTML is coded to help screen readers. For example, at the start of each page there is a hidden option to skip menus and start reading from the content of the page.
• All images carry ‘Alt’ Tags to identify their content.
Disclaimer: a small minority of sections of this site do not fully meet Priority 2 due to the use of Javascript to validate forms. Additionally, Adobe Acrobat (PDF) documents and Flash video content may not meet the required standards.
If any aspects of this web site impair your ability to access information, please let us know and we will examine how we can address the issue. Email us at: [email protected]
