SPORT KARATE EAST’s Chief Instructor, David M Coulter MBE, has just been inaugurated into the Martial Arts “Black Belt Hall of Fame”.
Davie Coulter is called “the quiet man of karate” he does all his talking through the world class athletes he inspires and produces, generation after generation.
Davie was a phenomenal athlete himself, winning Two World Championship Team Titles, Two Individual European Championship Titles, Seven National Team Titles, Four Individual National Championships and Captained the Scottish Team for many years.
When Davie retired from competition, he subsequently became the Scottish Karate Governing Body Team Coach for the Under 21s from 1985 till 1993. He then went on to be appointed as the Senior National Karate Team coach.
Over the years he has won a plethora of championships and awards, which include:
- Olympic Torch Bearer London Olympics
- Awarded the M.B.E in the Queen’s Birthday Honours’ list

The inaugurated into the Martial Arts “Black Belt Hall of Fame” was well overdue and everyone at SKE & SAKAI would like to congratulate you on your inaugurated Sensei!
