Excellent Two Days @ Lisbon International Open Championship!
Day One – Congratulations to Matthew Pratt on winning the Lisbon International Open today, he did not lose a single point on his way to being crowned Male Cadet +70kgs Champion.
Matthew had a point to make today after his exit at the WKF World Championships in Chile last month and he’s certainly made his point today beating Spain’s Alejandro Jimenez Diaz, who is ranked 13th in the world, in the final.
Aiden Tobin also put in a good solid performance today narrowly missing out on progressing in the quarter finals on a 3-2 flags decision.
Day Two – We had seven more squad members stepping on to the tatami at the Lisbon Open. First to reach the podium on day two was Olly Bryson taking a SILVER in the Male -25kgs catagory.
Miss EVE Watt went one better and was crowned the Female -40kgs Lisbon Open Champion.
Dundee’s Little Pocket Rocket Daisy Hutchison put in a spirited performance but on this occasion was beat for BRONZE. Over the weekend we saw numerous excellent performances from the squad, the future is bright for all of these young athletes for sure!
Here is a little video insight of some of the action that took place at the Lisbon International Open this weekend. Some awesome performances for sure from our young team.
