47% of SAKAI Athletes Achieved Podium

 

The SAKAI Association athletes headed over to Revenscraig Regional Sports Facility at the weekend to complete in the National Kumite Championship.  

There were some solid performances from the Squad which saw 47% of the athletes selected achieved a podium place. 

 

6 – Gold Medallists

  • Nikola Blaszczak – Girls Under 4ft.
  • Scott Collins – Boys Under 4ft. 4”
  • Lewis Bryson – Boys Under 5ft.
  • Adam El Shafei – Senior Open Weight
  • Boys Under 4ft. 4” Team [Scott Collins / Caiden Buick / Baxter Anderson]
  • Boys Under 4ft. 8” Team [Liam Collins / Filip Zmudzinski / Rhian Mitchell]

 

 

3 – Silver Medallists

  • Jacob McGlone – Boys Under 4ft. 
  • Filip Zmudzinski – Boys Under 4ft. 8”
  • Adam El Shafei – Male Under 67kgs 

 

5 – Bronze Medallists

  • Elle Thomson – Girls Under 4ft.4”
  • Billie Ross – Female Cadet Under 54kgs
  • Matthew Pratt – Cadet Male +70kgs 
  • Matthew Pratt – Cadet Open Weight 
  • Boys Under 5ft. Team [Lewis Bryson / Kaydyn Forbes / Aiden Tobin]

 

The Nationals have set up the SAKAI squad well for the end of season event at the Lisbon International Open in Portugal next weekend, which will see over 970 athletes compete to be crowned champion.

This event is of a very high standard and attracts athletes from all over Europe,

I’m sure the championship titles will be hotly contested, we will keep you posted on how the squad performs.
