The SAKAI Karate Association’s coaching staff are at the forefront of professional Martial Arts development in Scotland.  Our coaching staff regularly attend seminars and courses to enhance our professional development.  

This weekend was no exception, SKE coaching staff were with Martin Rooney founder and CEO of Training for Warriors at a seminar in Edinburgh. At the event Richard Mallinson [SKE’s Youth Development Director] was certified as a Training For Warriors Level 1 Instructor.  We now have four certified TFW coaches within our SAKAI Karate Association.

Martin Rooney is an internationally recognised pioneer of strength and conditioning for the Martial Arts. He holds a Master of Health Science and Bachelor of Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from Furman University.
